Not all thermal 'features' in Yellowstone have the same colorful bacteria, but those that do provide an extraordinary sight. In this photograph you can also see the rebirth of trees after the Yellowstone fire of 1988 -- over 1 million acres of forest were scorched -- that fire was the largest ever recorded in the history of the National Park.
