Thermal Hole | Friday Oct 02, 2009
For hundreds of thousands of years Yellowstone has evolved into a landscape like no other. The varied thermal features dotting the terrain deliver unique beauty all their own. The white on the surrounding ground is not snow, but discharged mineral deposits. And the multihued hole is colored by various types of bacteria that thrive in the searing water.
