Nice composition. The peak by itself would have been a solid shot, but the sign add a bit more depth. Great colors.

i have two reactions to this photo. one, that it's absolutely beautiful, especially the colors and detail in the mountain and of course that sky. and second, it reminds me of those movies where people are stranded in the desert and makes me thirsty. well captured!

Another great photograph Kevin. I have always wondered what it is like to own a piece of property with a peak like this on it. That is a great drive between Alpine and Ft Davis.

Indeed a peak like in a drawing. The white sky gives more impact to the mountain in the landscape.

I remember these places from when i used to be a truck driver.
Close to Alpine is Marfa
have you ever took the time to see those weird lights at night?
Every time i passed by at night, i used to climb on the top of the trailer , light a smoke and watch those "alien" lights.

Actually, I did get to see the Marfa lights. Pretty interesting phenomenon! However, they do not photograph well (for me at least) they just appear as dots of light in blackness. I thought about posting an image, but knew the naysayers would speculate they were car lights, photoshop, etc.
