Looming Misfortune | Wednesday Oct 10, 2007

A couple of friends have asked me about the tragedy that occurred yesterday when a woman was ejected from the gondola basket of the balloon she was a passenger (it got caught in descent on a utility line.) I was on the launch field Monday morning and only have a couple of distant images of the balloon involved. This image (balloon on the left) was one I had taken 48 hours earlier at the festival's opening. (USA Today and New York Times articles)
