Ewing Oil | Monday Jan 28, 2008
When many people think of Dallas, they think of "Dallas" the television series from twenty plus years ago. The building on the left (Renaissance Tower) was used for early exterior shots of JR's company, Ewing Oil. Later, when the building on the right became the tallest in the city (Bank of America, better seen in yesterday's posting), it served as the headquarters until the TV series ended.
Photography note: someone asked about the blue sky. It helps when the sky is blue, but the biggest advantage I find for daylight sky and things that reflect (i.e. water, glass, etc.) is to use a polarizing filter on the lens. Similar to wearing polarized sunglasses, the filter reduces the glare from scattered light.
